The Sr. Credit Analyst is responsible reviewing and monitoring transactions submitted for underwriting, processing, negotiating, and capturing indirect and direct loan & lease originations. The Sr. Credit Analyst is expected to develop and maintain a high level of customer service with our Credit Union and Dealer partners. This role will partner with all departments within Origence Lending Services (OLS), while maintaining and enhancing relationships. Accuracy, understanding, and the ability to teach Credit Union programs, OLS guidelines, and associated laws and regulations are essential to the success of this position. This role will assist Credit Analyst teammates with system and program training and will typically have a higher decisioning authority due to experience and performance. The Sr. Credit Analyst will support other team needs such as scheduling, posting guidelines, updates to processes and procedures, onboarding new clients and attending client meetings.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Underwriting/Processing
- Review loan applications and render decisions within underwriting criteria and approval limits.
- Gather and review data available to determine the degree of risk involved with an application, including but not limited to attributes such as DTI, LTV, PTI, dealer risk, deal structure, collateral, consumer alerts, review of credit bureau and decision the application accordingly within applicable guidelines.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dealers and credit union partners regularly to build rapport, develop, and maintain relationships.
- Review and process consumer alerts as required by credit union and OLS procedures.
- Apply decisions in multiple loan origination systems and adequately document decision to explain rationale.
- Evaluate second look requests based upon lending and exception guidelines (where applicable.)
- Follow up on approved applications to maximize funding ratio via written communication and inbound/outbound phone calls.
- Follow up with members and dealers to collect missing items, stipulations, or other misc. documentation.
- Accurately document and track results of outbound and inbound calls.
- Contributes to operational and departmental goals such as meeting SLA’s, achieving defined quality metrics, and placing concrete decisions whenever possible.
- Ability to underwrite with high quality rates for multiple credit unions, multiple products, and within multiple systems. Serves as an active resource given this expertise.
- Conducts second reviews in areas of proficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Operations, Innovation & Other Services Support
- Complete review of fraud triggers and ensure accuracy in handling fraud services processes and procedures.
- Participates in implementation of fraud detection techniques.
- Embraces, supports, and recommends improvement of processes within the department.
- Participates in the testing of new software, services, and implementation.
- Support Operations Department in functions such as processing and funding applications, processing held offerings, customer support center call and queue support, and special projects.
- Support improvement in overall capture rate in select markets.
- Monitor dealer productivity and assist dealers with program education to increase look to book ratios.
- Supports new client implementation.
- Supports system, program, and product specific training in conjunction with leadership.
Communication
- Ensure all communication (internal, external, oral, written) is handled in a professional manor.
- Communicate all issues, production or otherwise and escalate, as necessary.
- Collaborate to resolve client and internal support issues within OLS and Origence teams.
- Represents the Credit Union and OLS in a positive and professional manner.
- Participate in client meetings as necessary.
- Contribute to, and lead team meetings.
The Ideal Candidate:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience required.
Experience:
- Five+ years of underwriting experience in a consumer lending/underwriting environment within a financial institution preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of financial industry policies and operations is required.
- Knowledge of financial institution operations, regulatory compliance, point of purchase or indirect auto lending or leasing preferred.
- Previous processing/funding experience is preferred.
- Experience in L360, Meridian Link, Correlation Keystone, Temenos or Ideal is preferred.
Specialized Skills:
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
- Excellent communication (oral/written) and analytical skills required.
- Must be able to work independently with a high-level of initiative.
- Ability to interface with credit union and dealership management for the purpose of creating and furthering a business relationship on behalf of Origence.
- Ability to organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines and establish goals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver fast, efficient loan decisions to the dealers.
- Computer knowledge with Microsoft Office programs to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Schedule must be flexible, must be willing to work a varied work schedule to ensure maximum effectiveness. within business hours (7:00 am through 9:00 pm MST, 7 days a week).
- Specialized problem-solving and trouble shooting skills.

The starting hourly range for this full-time position is $56150 - $66560 a year. This base pay will take into consideration internal equity, candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge and experience among other factors. Origence maintains a highly competitive compensation program. Under company guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual bonus to provide an incentive to achieve targeted goals. Bonuses are awarded at company’s discretion on an individual basis.
